From brushstrokes to breakthroughs

Looking at my artist timeline

What am I most surprised about?

I am most surprised about how far Silvina Lanusse Art has come in just a couple of years. It was 2018 when I started art journaling more and more. I kept these small easy to carry everywhere journals, some pencils and pens, and I would just draw what I saw documenting a moment in time in my life. Slowly I started paying attention to flowers, leaves, and nature around me. I took pictures of everything that caught my eye with the intention of using it for inspiration. I started experimenting with watercolour and collage, which showed me the way to mixed media. Workshops and art residency behind, pet portrait commissions, and taking many more art classes online from amazing artists around the world, brought me where I am today: making consistent work and building an art business from the ground.

What am I most proud of?

Having taken the leap and investing time and money to learn how to run an art business and build community. I joined the Thrive Together Network to find my people, my voice, support and inspiration. I joined Kellee Wynne’s Build it Remarkable program to learn about business strategies for artists. In just less than a year, I’ve learned so much! I never thought I would be here today.

What am I most excited about?

I am looking forward to 2024! I have a lot of fun projects lined up already, collaborations, workshops, exhibits, and a whole lot of content. Walking for inspiration, walking art journaling, nature-self-creativity: leading to some great offers coming this spring. I am so excited to start planning for all of these adventures and get them ready to share with you! Can’t wait!

What did I make space for this year?

I prioritized studio time as much as I could after work and weekends. The amount of work I produced this year is directly related to the hours I put in. Just as important is studio organization and physical space. I re-organized, let go of supplies I wasn’t using, got more table top and shelving, cubbies and bins. Everything is easy-access and I can clean easier. I made my studio space my own. Best move ever!

What was a big lesson for me this year?

To believe in myself and trust the path I’ve chosen. I’ve learned that I can do anything I set my mind to, and that patience, practice, and determination are key to reaching my goals, even if it takes a bit longer.

and a word that I want to manifest for 2024 is…

LEAP

This means embracing the uncertainty and risks involved in pursuing my passion, stepping out of my comfort zone, committing wholeheartedly to my artistic pursuit, and trusting that my hard work, talent, and dedication will lead to success. Does it require courage? yes!

determination? yes!

willingness to face challenges and overcome obstacles along the way? yes!

is it worth it? absolutely!

Looking forward, I am ready to embark on the next chapter of my artistic career. I am committed to exploring new techniques, and continually pushing the boundaries of my craft. I aspire to create art that captures the essence of our world by also serves as a catalyst for introspection, connection, and exploration. I will share with you my walks for inspiration and show you how nature influences my thoughts and painting process. I will bring you along in the hopes that you will join these wonderful adventures!

I want to thank you for being a part of my journey. Your support and encouragement have played an integral role in shaping the artist I am today, and the one I aim to become.

Let’s go!
