Art Adventures: Show Triumphs, Garden Inspirations, and Workshops at Tigh-Na-Mara!

Hello friends and art enthusiasts!

I’m thrilled to share the latest updates from my artistic journey. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my work in the exhibit "From Verse to Canvas," and it was a truly magical experience.

Show Triumph: "From Verse to Canvas"

The show was a wonderful success! The exhibit featured a collection of my pieces inspired by poetry, blending the written word with visual art to create a unique storytelling experience. The turnout was amazing, and I was deeply touched by the positive feedback from visitors. Many expressed how the combination of poetry and painting brought new depth and emotion to the artworks, creating a more immersive experience.

The highlight was a section where poet Tina Biello read a selection of her poems while I painted on my sketchbook incorporating some of the words I was hearing. It was truly amazing to hear how many of you enjoyed being a witness to this collaboration. It was heartwarming to see the engagement from everyone.

Garden Inspirations at Milner Gardens

Following the show, I took some time to recharge and seek new inspiration at the beautiful Milner Gardens. I had the opportunity to lead a walk and paint class. The serene environment and vibrant colours provided a perfect backdrop for reflection and creativity. Walking through the garden paths, I felt a renewed sense of energy and ideas blossoming. Nature has always been a profound influence on my work, and sharing this visit with my students was no exception.

This session was all about using long-handled brushes to paint while standing, allowing for a more expressive and fluid approach to capturing the subject matter. This technique emphasizes embracing imperfection and finding beauty in the spontaneous and unrestricted movement of the brush.

I saw participants find joy in the spontaneity and fluidity of their brushstrokes, embracing the beauty that arises from imperfection. Relishing the sense of freedom and creativity that this technique provides, often expressing a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm for their artistic practice.

Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort has invited me to teach through their Recreation Program! Join me every Saturday in July and August for gel printing workshops. Discover the basics of using a gel plate, and experiment with stencils, foliage, flowers, and more to create unique and colorful prints. No experience needed—just bring your creativity! 🎨✨
