Looking back at the last 5 months…
After the busy days of Christmas, I am back at my home studio, reflecting on the past 5 months. I worked hard, I committed to my studio time, I focused on my goal and learned new skills and techniques.
I sold one painting off the wall, just like that! I had a really good feeling for that one, all along. I was confident people would like it. It was the painting with the tulips: “Empowering”. What a title! the word was the word I had picked for 2021 and it proved to be just how the year was going to feel. The lady buying the painting said to me “I had to have it, it is so colourful and happy!” This is exactly what I envisioned. Mission accomplished, I told myself.
I was commissioned to paint two dog portraits for the holidays and one more for the Spring. It became clear that people love to have a portrait of their pet and so I embarked in these projects right away without hesitation and much amusement. I taught myself to estimate costs and calculate earnings. I was able to make a substantial amount of money in just five months and so I decided to open a new bank account dedicated solely to Silvina Lanusse Art. This in itself gave me even more confidence to pursue this dream.
I was given the opportunity to offer two children’s workshops at The Old School House Arts Centre in Qualicum Beach and a one day workshop for adults in 2022. I am looking forward to teaching what I know and use these as stepping stones toward creating my own online courses in the coming year.
I created this website and linked my social media to it. This is a work in progress, a learning curve and an art piece in itself. It is constantly evolving and it provides me with a fun platform to showcase my work as well as write about my experiences. I am contempt.
I had a goal to start an art business and I can proudly say that I am in the right path, giving small steps at a time. Silvina Lanusse Art has launched and is developing steadily. I could not ask for more.
