It all begins with an idea…

I have been dreaming about starting my very own art business for a couple of years now. I am giving that very first step finally! I learned from some of the best artists: Laura Horn, Susan Nethercote, Laly Mille and Tamara Laporte. Each one of them has a different and unique approach to running an art business, and I followed their lead.

This is the beginning for me. I have been paying close attention to tips and advice on how to create a social media presence, what apps work best, how to engage more viewers and how to organize your business. I listen to podcasts and visit other artists sites to see how they do this.

This is my very humble beginning.

I am a resident artist at The Old School House Arts Centre in Qualicum Beach. I go there every Saturday to work on my art, sometimes on the planning of my workshops, I record my processes. This was my way of saying “hello! here I am and this is what I do”, to get some exposure. This alone gave me the opportunity to become one of the 2022 instructors at the gallery. I will be teaching 3 workshops next year. I am so excited about this! I will get a taste of teaching both kids and adults and this alone will fuel my online art classes.

Today I am polishing my new website. I decided to buy a new domain name and create a site that portrays me, my personality and my life as an artist.
